Johnson will go on a short, three-stop book signing tour this week to celebrate the publication of his book, "Rockers And Rollers: A Full Throttle Memoir", which arrives today. Johnson will sign at Barnes & Noble on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan on May 24 at 12:30 p.m., Book Revuein Huntington, New York on May 25 at 7:00 p.m., and Bookends in Ridgewood, New Jersey on May 26, also at 7:00 p.m.
While other AC/DC books like "AC/DC: Maximum Rock And Roll" have covered the history of the band, a press release stated that "Rockers And Rollers" gives fans "a rare, riveting window into Brian Johnson's other driving passion, his love for automobiles. From teenage memories in the backs of beat-up coups to a side career as a race car driver, Johnson shares his tantalizing life story - a memoir told through his lifelong love affair with cars."
Johnson told Motor Trend magazine that his obsession with driving began as a child, when his father bought him a steering wheel and put a stick through it. He explained, "I put it through the headboard of my bed and put four cushions up. My dad would shake his head. I would drive all over the world. I'd just be sitting there (makes engine sound). I could hear my father say to my mother, 'We're going to have to do something about him.'"
