George Lynch: Debuts New "Son of Scary"; Video Interview; Announces Tour Dates

George Lynch, the lead guitarist for Dokken, has announced a summer US tour with his re-formed Lynch Mob. Lynch is also premiering a brand new song, "Son of Scary" exclusively on Noisecreep.

Lynch Mob's tour begins on July 29th in Houston, TX, and wraps up on the West Coast, with more dates to be announced shortly. The tour is set to coincide with the release of Lynch's eleventh solo album in nearly twenty years, "Kill All Control" due out on July 19th through Rocket Science, Inc.

Noiscreep had a chance to check out the new record and it's a real beast. "Kill All Control" combines many of Lynch's varied styles, including a follow up to the instrumental Dokken track "Mr. Scary" called "Son of Scary" featuring Fred Coury of Cinderella on drums. We are thrilled to get our hands on the exclusive premiere of "Son of Scary".

Additional guests on the album include a variety of known singers. Will Marten (Earshot), Marc Torien (Bullet Boys), and Keith St. John (Montrose) all sang on the new album, for which Lynch wanted "to create an eclectic listening experience" for his fans.

In 2009, George re-formed Lynch Mob and released "Smoke and Mirrors", which resulted in an extended tour and the reunion of the original Lynch Mob line-up. Lynch Mob are currently also working on a new album, due out later this year.

Lynch came to fame in the 1980s through his work as the lead guitarist in the band Dokken. Dokken had a string of successful platinum albums including 'Under Lock and Key' and 'Back for the Attack,' both of which featured Lynch's inventive and intricate guitar work.

Recently, Lynch has become embroiled in war of words with lead singer Don Dokken. As he recounted to Noisecreep several weeks ago, the original friction was something a publicist decided to market years ago to give the band an edge. However, the fictional feud was based on some very real differences.

"She [the publicist] played it up good," Lynch told Noisecreep. "Having us pose back to back with revolvers and stuff like that. But there was truth to our tension. Don was the weakest link in Dokken and we always dreamed of having a different lead singer. Me and the other guys, we'd write all the stuff, then he'd just come in and try to match the scratch vocals. It was a joke. A pose. Don't get me wrong -- he's talented -- talented at using other people's talents and being manipulative, deceitful, and acting with absolutely no conscience."

Today however, Lynch is firmly focused on the new record and tour and shared with Noisecreep how anxious he is to share the new music, live, with his fans.
