A big loss for fans of great guitar players. Legendary guitarist and former Lizzy axeman Gary Moore was found dead in his hotel room in Spain February 6th:
"Former Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore has died at a Costa del Sol hotel.
The musician was found dead in his room at the luxury Kempinski Resort Hotel in Estepona in the early hours of this morning. A postmortem is due to carried out later today in the nearby city of Malaga.
Moore (58) from Belfast is understood to have been on holiday at the time of his death." Irish Times
"He was a genius player," Hot Press editor Niall Stokes said. "Even as a teenager, he had something special about him and throughout his career he worked really hard at improving his technique. His contribution to the Irish rock canon was immense, both in his own solo work, his days with Skid Row, the great records he recorded with Philip Lynott and with Thin Lizzy and in various other cameos. My heart goes out to all of his close friends and family. It is a huge loss."
