BackstageAxxesshas
issued a new video interview with Peter Criss. "In
the midst of his current book tour, we at BackstageAxxess were
grateful that we were able to sit down and talk to this legendary
drummer. We talked about his unique relationship with his mom. We
also chatted away about his love of his idol Gene Krupa. In addition,
we talked about what took place when he signed his first record deal
with KISS. Plus much more was discussed as well."
Like
Black Country Communion's previous albums (2010's self-titled debut
and 2011's "2"), "Afterglow" was
produced by Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden,
Aerosmith, the Black Crowes), who formed the band after watching
Bonamassa and Hughes perform together at a Guitar Center event
in November 2009.
Afterwards,
Shirley got in touch with Sherinian and Bonham to round out the group
and they released their debut album in September 2010. Classic
Rock Magazine called
it "Possibly the best hard rock album of 2010." A mere nine
months later, the group released their sophomore album "2". Guitar
World named
it #12 in their Top 50 Albums of 2011;Planet
Rock Radio listeners
crowned them Best New Band; in November, BCC scooped up the
Breakthrough Award at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards.
BraveWords.comreports that following
Europe’s interview about the making of "The Final Countdown" of BBC 1 Television’s "The One Show", the band will
start their "Bag Of Bones" UK tour at the Birmingham O2 Academy on
Wednesday, November 21, with special guests Stonerider.
If
you missed Europe’s interview on "The One Show" last night, you can
view it online via BBC iPlayer here. Europe
vocalist Joey Tempest believes that 2009’s "Last Look At Eden" album
was a significant turning point for the band. That album proved to be
Europe’s most important record since "The Final Countdown". Now, with
the release of their current album "Bag Of Bones", Tempest says,
“Europe is ready to do some serious damage.”

According
to Faster
Louder,
a Black SabbathAustralian
tour announcement on Halloween seems imminent as a mysterious video
posted by promoters Live NationWednesday
morning (Australian time) suggests that the reunited band could be
announcing a tour. The seven-second video (which has since been
removed from YouTube) promises that "darkness descends"
tonight at 10:00 p.m. (Australian time) before directing fans towards
a collection of Sabbathclips.
A Black
Sabbath Australian
tour announcement on Halloween seems a little too perfect to be true,
but a mysterious video posted by promoters Live Nation this morning
suggests that Ozzy
Osbourne and
co. could be announcing an imminent tour.
The
seven second video (watch below) shows a heaving crowd of punters in
black. It promises that “darkness descends” tonight at 10pm
before directing you towards a collection of Sabbath clips.
This
driving rocker is an echo directly from Aerosmith's earliest
hit-making years, and could arguably fit easily on any of their
classic Seventies albums. A collision of guitars erupts behind an
excited Steven Tyler, who rips through an avalanche of innuendo and
explicit sexuality: "You get a thrill from the smell of her
hair/You get a high from the taste of her wet/It's certified,
bu-bu-bu-but chu ain't getting there yet!"
It
begins with a false start and a groan from drummer Joey Kramer, then
dives in without a break until it crashes to a shriek and a close.
It's the kind of sound many fans have expected to come with the
return of producer Jack Douglas, chief collaborator on Aerosmith's
first decade of career-defining work. (Douglas also plays some
percussion on "Lover Alot.")
Never
tired of the road, Saxon announce the UK leg of their Sacrifice World
Tour in support of the upcoming album of the same name. The New Wave
of British Heavy Metal legends will play 9 dates in April 2013 and
they can’t wait to share their new material on stage. Throughout
the years, Saxon have been touring relentlessly and earning an
excellent reputation for the quality and energy of their
performances. This is documented in their "Heavy Metal Thunder –
The Movie", which is released on 7th December. As UK fans await "Sacrifice" with the same anticipation reserved for Saxon’s
previous work, they know the spring shows will be - as always - a
treat not to be missed.
Biff Byford says “People have been
asking me if this is going to be our last album and tour - we don’t
know yet we’ll see how it goes.”

After more than 35 years and 13 million albums sold
worldwide, Saxon are still relentless and passionate as they were
back in the days of ‘Wheels of Steel’ and ‘Denim and Leather’.
The influential heavy metal outfit has been an inspiration for the
likes of Metallica and Megadeth and a front-runner for the New Wave
of British Heavy Metal sweeping the nation in the late 70s-early 80s.
New Studio album "Sacrifice" out on February 25th, will be album
number 20 in their stellar career, and fans are as excited as they
were when Saxon first made their initial impact on the metal scene.
Steven
Tyler and Carrie Underwood performed a duet this year on a Country
Music Television special and rocked Aerosmith's classic "Walk
This Way" and her hit "Undo It" together at the 2011
Academy of Country Music Awards. Since graduating from Idol,
Underwood has been awarded a pile of Grammys and platinum records as
a country pop singer, but she's also become a true believer in brand
Tyler, even performing a cover of Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion"
on her current tour.
The
two sings duet on "Can`t Stop Loving You" on the new Aerosmith album.

Peter
Mensch, the manager of Led Zeppelinguitarist Jimmy
Page, told the U.K.'s Sunday Timesthat
the legendary axeman is holed up in a west London studio "remastering
every Led Zeppelin LP."
It is believed that the new remasters, which are tentatively due next
year, will possibly include alternate takes and unreleased material
as well. Pagerecently
told Mojomagazine
that there are plans to release each Zeppelinstudio
album as a box set with additional material from each LP. In
addition, it was revealed in an article in The Australianthat
artistShepard Fairleyhas
been tapped to re-design the artwork for the upcoming
reissues. Pagerecently
told a British radio station that he is working on new music, which
might be released before the end of the year. During a chat with BBC
Radio, Pagesaid,
"I'm just looking forward to making some music and surprising
people with it. It won't be just teaming up with lots of people who
are [big] names. I've got an idea of something which I've had for a
long time and now's the time to do it." Pageremained
ambiguous when talking about the still-unnamed project, saying: "I
have got other ideas that have been nagging at me for a long long
time, I think the way to present music is same picture different
frame, and sometimes this frame is quite radical."
Professionally
filmed video footage of Metallica's October 27 performance at
the Voodoo Music + Arts Experienceat
New Orleans City Park can be seen below. The band joined the festival
billing as the replacement for Green Day, which canceled
its Voodooappearance
two weeks ago, presumably due to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's
onstage breakdown and subsequent rehab enrollment. Metallica's

"On
Stage" is a live album originally released in 1977. The album was
recorded live over several German and Japanese dates in late 1976
during the "Rising" world tour. Producer Martin Birch spliced many of
the tracks together from different dates. "Long
Live Rock 'n' Roll" is the third studio album released in 1978. This
was the last Rainbow album to feature Ronnie James Dio on

The
working title was "Sweet Jesus," but producer Jack Douglas
suggested "Street Jesus." Tyler went with it, inspired by
his frequent sightings of a man well over six feet tall who wanders
the streets of Los Angeles dressed
as Jesus Christ.
In the song, a rushed Tyler sings, "Somebody stole my shoes/
Man, I could smell the booze... After that thief I ran/ Into another
man who had no feet."
"I
sat down, put pad to paper and, before you know it, I had a bunch of
one-liners or 10-liners about a story like that – about the holes
in my shoes and the holes in his hand," Tyler recalls, "teaching
in church what you learn in the street."
The
finished song is the new album's second-longest track. Tyler compares
the tempo and feel to Aerosmith's "Jailbait" from 1982, but
bassist Tom Hamilton looks back further: "Steven nailed the
lyric on it. It reminds me of a classic British thing from the
Sixties."
