Slash Joined By Alice Cooper At Revolver Golden God Awards; Video Posted; Full Show Streaming On Facebook

There was a meeting of rock legends at the Golden Gods Awards, as Alice Cooper joined Slash for a spirited rendition of Cooper’s classic, ‘School’s Out.’ (lower video).

Slash and his band began their set with ‘Nothing to Say’ and ‘Back to Cali’ from his 2010 self-titled debut. They then went into their current single, ‘You’re a Lie,’ from ‘Apocalyptic Love.’ But unlike the other bands on the night, they didn’t leave the stage after their third song, an indication that something big was about to happen.

After asking for “11 seconds of noise” in memory of the late Jim Marshall, Slash introduced Cooper as “a good, dear friend of mine for a lot of fucking years” and “one of the great rock n’ roll icons.”  We presume their friendship is based on their shared love of great rock music and top hats.
Cooper came out to rapturous applause wearing a “No More Mr. Nice Guy” leather jacket and carrying a riding crop. Although Cooper’s voice was ragged, he still had plenty of energy. Slash threw out some typically blistering solos as the crowd captured it all on their smartphones.
The entire Golden Gods Awards show can be streamed on the show’s Facebook page.
