Duff McKagan has confirmed that Velvet Revolver have recorded songs with Slipknot Corey Taylor. However, the bassist said that this doesn't make Taylor the band's official new frontman quite yet.
Rumours have been circulating for months now that the Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman will take the singing spot Scott Weiland previously held.
McKagen told Music Radar: "We recorded a bunch of songs with Corey. I think he's fucking great – he's the best voice of a new generation and I'd be proud to do anything with him."
He wouldn’t be drawn on whether Taylor would join the band full-time, though.
"The truth is, I can't see Velvet Revolver happening until fall," he said. "Slash is touring, I'm just starting to tour – we'll just have to see. I don't have an answer."
The bassist is currently touring with his other band, Duff McKagan's Loaded. They play Download Festival this June.
