Aerosmith: Steven Tyler Talks "Legendary Child" Song + Video; New Video Interview Available

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler told ABCNews Radio at this past weekend's finale of the latest Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp installment that his band spent spent 12 hours on Friday, May 4 shooting a video for the song "Legendary Child".

Steven Tyler was the featured guest on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson Tuesday night. Watch the 15 minute chat below.

"Legendary Child", a track originally written during the sessions for Aerosmith's 1991 album "Get A Grip" sessions), will be included in the upcoming summer film "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" (which arrives in theaters around the U.S. on June 29). The song is also expected to appear on Aerosmith's long-awaited new studio CD, due later in the year.

"It's gonna be slammin'," Tyler said of the track. "Joe was on fire. Wait, you'll see."

Regarding  Aerosmith 's decision to contribute "Legendary Child" to the"G.I. Joe: Retaliation" soundtrack, Tyler said, "'G.I. Joe' [is] about about deep space and 'let's go fight the foe.' And then I thought about where the band came from, and going [into] the music business. If there ever… was a foe, the music business was. So to be successful you had to learn how to climb ladders, jump through hoops and live through burning houses."

Aerosmith is reportedly working on the "Legendary Child" clip with director Casey Patrick Tebo, who also is helming a new concert film titled"Aerosmith: Rock For The Rising Sun". According to Tebo's official web site, the movie, which will focus on A Aerosmith 's relationship with the group's Japanese fans, will be released later this year or in 2013.

Aerosmith recently delayed the release of its new studio album to September, with no official reason given for the hold-up.

The disc will be the group's first set of all-new material since 2001's "Just Push Play" and first studio effort since the 2004 covers collection, "Honkin' On Bobo".

The group has had to work around Tyler's schedule as a judge on"American Idol", where he is currently in his second season.

Aerosmith will begin its summer "Global Warming" tour on June 16 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
