the band's current cross-Canada tour, Deep Purple will take their
"first real long six-month break in probably ten years,"
singer Ian Gillan tells Thestarphoenix.com.
In response to online reports about the UK hard rock icons creating a new studio album Gillan remarks: "We haven't actually gotten any material at the moment. I read that too but it's rubbish."
But there's no retiring from the gig says Gillan: "We have a little joke. When we're sitting in Russia somewhere and the walls are dripping and we haven't eaten for two days, we look at each other and go 'it's the glamour that keeps us going.' "
