The Big 4: 50.000 Fans Gets Their Kick

According to Bruce Fessier of The Desert Sun, a sell-out crowd is expected to attend today's (Saturday, April 23) "Big Four" concert at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The show, featuring the biggest names of 1980s thrash metal - Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax - is permitted for up to 55,000 people by the city of Indio, but a sell-out may actually be closer to 50,000.

Artisan News Service spoke with Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian this past week about the significance of today's  "Big Four" show in California, which unites Eighties thrash metal legends on stage in the United States for the first time.

The "Big Four" tour first played selected dates in Eastern Europe last summer to an fantastic response, which led to the scheduling of shows this year in the U.S. and other parts of Europe. There's no word yet on whether more "Big Four" events are in the works.
