No. 12. “Welcome to the Jungle,” Guns N’ Roses
Guns N’ Roses’ debut, "Appetite for Destruction", changed the face of ’80s hard rock forever. At a time when popular music was all about danceability and shiny, glitzy pop, Guns N’ Roses made dirty rock and roll cool again. “Welcome to the Jungle” was the focal point. It’s a primal, nasty, heavy metal nugget, sprawling in a blues-based, metallic foundation. Slash’s spewed-out riffing and solos alone make “Welcome to the Jungle” one of the best metal tracks of all time.
