Mr. Big New Album: "What If..."

Mr. Big are back with their first Studio album in 14 years by the original members. The new album entitled “What If...” was produced by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Rush, Iron Maiden). The album is set to be release in early 2011 on Frontiers Records and will be followed by a World Tour beginning in South America in March.

“What If...” is the follow up to 2009's highly successful, “Back To Budokan” CD/DVD which marked the bands triumphant return to Japan with a sold out show at legendary Budokan!

Formed in 1988, Mr. Big forged its place in hard rock history by combining trademark "shredding" musicianship with awesome vocal harmonies. The original line-up – vocalist Eric Martin, guitarist Paul Gilbert, bassist Billy Sheehan, and drummer Pat Torpey. Mr. Big produced numerous hit songs that ranged across a wide array of rock genres – be it ballads, heavy metal, or blues rock.

Mr. Big lead singer Eric Martin recently spoke with Backstageaxxess.com and gave a no holds barred interview discussing the Mr. Big reunion and some of the bands he almost wound up in, including Van Halen, Toto, and Foreigner. He also talked about the title of the brand new album:

ERIC: "You mean like what if we had stayed together? It's kind of an inside thing. Something we used to say as a band when someone would bring in a song that didn't win everyone over and someone would say, "what if we added this, or what if we did that? Even though sometimes I would get frustrated because it meant somebody was about to give me their two cents worth, I realized that the end result was a positive one and we wound up with a great song. When Pat Torpey came up with the pig with wings for the cover, we laughed for like an hour and a half and we just left it."
