Last
year in July, TMD unearthed a KISS demo entitled “Smoke”. Not
much was known about the 70′s era sounding track. To this point, it
has received nearly 30,000 views on You Tube since being
uploaded.
Now… the mystery at last has been explained. Here’s the word from KISS historian Julian Gill: “This song, actually entitled “It Ain’t The Smoke”, was post-Dressed to Kill but before the legendary act brought in Bob Ezrin, which would place it in and around 1975. This cut is believed to be from a demo that they were using to prep for the next record. Ezrin wanted to move them away from this type of song, and so they did. Most likely it was Paul who played all the guitars.”
