Black Sabbath: "The Story of Black Sabbath" Vol 1 and 2

This first volume of the definitive story of Black Sabbath compiles archive performance and band-interview footage to chronicle Sabbath's first 8 years from 1970-1978. Featuring the original classic line-up of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, this video contains the story of Black Sabbath in there own words. The 10 trachs featured here include Top Of The Pops footage and rare European live performance clips. This version of the story of Black Sabbath has been given a brand new 5.1 surround sound mix and is in widescreen.

Straight out of the most depressing factory town in England came Black Sabbath, the band who started their reign over the hard rock world in 1970. The Black Sabbath Story is a musical documentary which details the band's rise to success using clips of their best music and most candid interviews through 1978. Songs include "Paranoid," "Children of the Grave," "Rock 'n' Roll Doctor," "Never Say Die," and others. Many of the songs are performed live and are not on any of their current albums.

Part 2 of the Black Sabbath story covers a second distinct period in the band's history subsequent to the departure of Ozzy Osbourne. This version of Sabbath includes Ronnie James Dio on vocals and the video features interviews and rare performance clips from this somewhat troubled period for the band. Also featured is a hilarious contribution from Ian Gillan on his short tenure as Sabbath vocalist.

This second chapter of Black Sabbath's history features guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward and bassist Geezer Butler revealing the truth behind the headlines, during the departure of vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. This is a time when the band saw many line-up changes, but none more radical than that of frontman Ozzy replaced by Ronnie James Dio. Interviews and rare performance clips are combined to offer a comprehensive retrospective of this troubled period for the band. Interviewees include drummer Bill Ward, Sabbath expert Hugh Gilmour.
