Kirk Hammett and legendary axeman Uli Jon Roth were the featured guests on the premiere episode of the seventh season of VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show", which premiered this past Saturday, March 19 at 11 p.m. ET/PT.
During his appearance on the program, Hammett talked about the "Big Four" tour featuring performances by the so-called "Big Four" of 1980s thrash metal — Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer:
"For me it's a celebration," he said. "We've all made it this far and we're all established bands and all the little issues and points of contention that we had with each other back then was all a product of being just young and immature and wanting to be number one. Now we've been around for 25 odd years or so and all that stuff doesn't matter any more, and we can all look at each other and say, 'We've accomplished a lot for metal and we should be proud and let's celebrate it together."
