Producers of an hour-long documentary on the wah-wah pedal have made their work available online in four parts.
"Cry Baby: The Pedal that Rocks the World" looks at the cultural impact of one of the cornerstone sounds of rock’n'roll and details the development of the product.
It was invented in the mid-60s and developed by Vox, Thomas Organ and Clyde McCoy, then Jim Dunlop coined the “crybaby” name. Since then it’s been used by thousands of the world’s leading guitarists including Kirk Hammett, Slash, Eddie Van Halen and Zakk Wylde, all of whom appear in the film.
